Character Notes

Gender: Male
Age: 15 at game start, 16 at time of app.
Birthday: 07/07
Canon History: LeafNinja Profile
Village Affiliation: Konoha
Rank: Chuunin.
Appearance:
Kiba is an excellent example of an Inuzuka boy, with some of the best examples of Inuzuka genetics. He has dark brown hair that shines with a reddy tint in sunlight, and tan skin in a dusty color reminiscent to people of his clan. He also, of course, bears the fang shaped tattoos on his cheeks, has slightly elongated canine teeth that look like fangs, and thin, dark pupils. He stands at 5'6" and has matured into a very handsome young man compared to the scrappy kid he used to be. He's filled out well, showing firm muscle in all the right places while also managing to keep his rather slender frame.
He wears a leather jacket over his netted undershirt, and rarely wears his flak jacket unless he's forced to as it doesn't make him look nearly as cool as his leather does. Flak jackets are kind of bunchy, and they remind him of old people.
He wears his headband in its typical position, around his forehead, and is rarely seen without his canine companion and teammate, Akamaru.
Personality:
On first impression Kiba seems like a very loud, very opinionated and very rude young shinobi... and if anyone decided to stick around long enough to give him a chance to prove that impression wrong, they'd be sorely disappointed because that's exactly how he is. Kiba doesn't do hidden depths or inner secrets, mostly due to the way he was brought up. There's no point lying to an Inuzuka as nine times out of ten they'll smell your deceit and then scent the truth out of you, so Kiba has been brought up to present a very honest and one dimensional view of himself.
Because of his clan-taught personal honesty, however, Kiba often comes off as incredibly rude. He can and will speak his mind, particularly when it comes to calling people out on their bullshit or shooting ideas down.
That isn't to say, of course, that he's a one dimensional guy. Kiba has a lot of emotional and personal depth, some of which even he isn't aware of. He's a very emotive person, whether the emotion in question be anger or love or joy, negative or positive; he finds it pretty hard to mask or restrain emotions when he feels them, making him utterly awful at deceiving anyone and therefore making him a horrible bluffer, especially when it comes to his feelings.
However, Kiba has taken on a few tips from his classmates over the years, particularly in the academy, to render him incredibly proficient in the art of boasting. Kiba can talk about himself and how powerful he is for /days/ if he's allowed and will often be caught retelling stories of his missions in a way that makes them sound much more impressive than they actually were.
This links in nicely with his determination. Kiba is incredibly determined, especially when it comes to his personal goals. No matter how big or small, if Kiba finds an end-game to focus on then very little will sway him from the path to victory, including his own competence or abilities - he's definitely not above aiming for the impossible and will fight tooth and nail to get as close as he can.
Kiba is also incredibly loyal. He follows a lot of pack dynamics being the dog-boy that he is, and forms bonds very easily to those who stick around and manage to earn his respect. His friends are very important to him, though he won't be caught dead admitting that to their faces, and he will protect and assist them any way he can to the best of his abilities till the end of his days. As well as this, Kiba will /always/ put his family first, and whoever he lets in close enough to consider family.
The most obvious point about Kiba's personality is his bold nature. Kiba tends to act before thinking in both battle and domestic situations. This said, he gets bored very easily if he doesn't feel like he's getting the most out of his action/training. The missions have to be cool enough and dangerous enough to sate him otherwise he is definitely not going to be a happy puppy.
He is, however, an excellent team player... but subconsciously. Kiba has a thing with being in control and being the leader, so he more often than not has to be tricked into thinking he's the leader before he'll play nice, even if it's not strictly the truth. One thing Kiba hates more than anything is rules, being told what to do. His mother, Tsume, was always firm but never strict, so Kiba has a real problem with authority sometimes.
Aside from all this, Kiba does in fact have a caring, friendly side. It's mostly shown to those he trusts and respects, but Kiba enjoys helping out if he can and likes making his friends happy. He's an asshole, but he has his moments.. You just have to catch him in a good mood at the right time.
Canon Abilities/Powers:
Four Legs Technique (Shikyaku)
A supplementary technique wherein Kiba surrounds his entire body with chakra and moves on all fours which amplifies his speed, physical strength, endurance and animalistic reflexes/instincts. This technique is the pathway to most of the Inuzuka's taijutsu attacks, particularly his clan's 'hit-and-run' fighting style, using their amplified speed to strike and dodge leaving little to no time for the enemy to strike back or even keep up.
When Kiba uses this attack he also grows more feral in appearance as his fangs become longer and his fingernails and toenails become claws.
Man Beast Clone
A unique Inuzuka technique that combines the transformation technique and the clone technique to enable Kiba to transform Akamaru into a copy of himself. They are impossible to tell apart when combined with the Four Legs Technique, as they are both equally feral.
Human-Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf (Soutourou)
Another Inuzuka technique where Kiba and Akamaru transform to become a single entity; a massive double headed wolf with devastating destructive power.
Taijutsu/Physical
Fang Over Fang
After using the Soutourou technique, the combined form of Akamaru and Kiba can spin their large body to create a drilling movement with a vacuumed vortex in their surroundings that can tear enemies apart without having to directly make contact.
The downside to this technique is that the speed of the spin makes the attack blind, but using Dynamic Marking beforehand means Kiba can rely on his unhindered and amplified sense of smell instead.
Passing Fang (Tsouga)
Kiba can spin at a violent speed and serve multiple fast, viscous and animalistic attacks on the enemy. This attack can easily tear through thick trees and blockades such as chakra reinforced brick walls, so the damage it can do to a human is very severe.
This attack is performed alone, but it can also be performed with Akamaru to make it more effective.
Fang Passing Fang (Gatsouga)
The same as its parent jutsu (Tsouga) except using the addition of Akamaru to further it's effects. This technique is powerful enough to drill through stone.
Fang Rotating Fang
Similar to Fang Over Fang, except in this technique both Kiba and Akamaru roll forwards at a ferocious speed to create a buzz-saw effect that can serve a flurry of violent attacks when it makes contact.
Other Skills
Dynamic Marking
Akamaru urinates on a target, marking it with a powerful odor that he and Kiba can then track with their skilled sense of smell. Akamaru is able to hit targets very accurately, including multiple targets or moving targets. The urine is also dangerous alone as it can blind and burn.
Enhanced Senses
The Inuzuka are famous for their talented sense of smell and use it as their most powerful and useful weapon. Kiba can concentrate chakra in his nose to make his sense of smell incredibly more sensitive than a normal persons and has gotten into the habit of doing it without thinking now. He can learn the scents of his teammates and friends, scent the physical condition of a person, feelings and auras and can also tell when a person is lying or hiding something. His senses are so fine tuned that he can pick up on heart rate and blood flow at this point.
His sense of smell is obviously very useful for tracking, but also as a sensory type since he can scent out hidden traps or ambushes.
However, because of his sensitive sense of smell, he's very vulnerable to strong odors and finds it very difficult to stay in a bad smelling area for too long.
Kiba also has acceptable skills in using paper bombs, smoke-bombs and other academy-level resources.
He also uses soldier pills with Akamaru every so often, which give Akamaru a boost, tinting his fur red as he gains more power and might.
Sunshine History:
The most important change in Kiba's history is that of his team dynamic. Kurenai isn't his sensei and Hinata isn't on his team, instead his sensei is a wind kenjutsu expert named Hayama Shirakumo and the girl on his team is none other than Sakura Haruno.Since Hayama is a kenjutsu expert and since Kiba has no weapon skills whatsoever due to his habit of striking only the utmost in powerful blows, it would appear at first as though Kiba has no place in his team. To combat this issue, Hayama encouraged Kiba's clan training more than personal training since his jutsu depended on his clan's style and his ninken companion, and focused more on teaching his team strategy and how to adapt their solo styles to work together as a team, and how to be effective.
However, more often than not this manifested into lectures about border control, of which Kiba has absolutely no interest whatsoever. Kiba finds the idea intensely boring - he knows he'd be good at it but the job is neither challenging nor /cool/ enough for him. There isn't enough glamor in it, Kiba would much prefer being on the front lines regardless of how often his sensei might reiterate how important border control is for nationwide security.
Hayama focuses a great deal on the importance of each member of the team fulfilling a purpose and supporting the team as a whole, and is resolute in the idea that jounin should die before chuunin under their command, and chuunin before genin. He refuses to let his subordinates take risks he could take instead, and this makes Kiba feel suffocated and stunted; like he can't forward his own ability as he's being held back by his team mates.
Kiba will eventually agree with Hayama if he's hassled into it enough, but mostly because of his natural respect for his elders, not for respect of the work.. and only after a lot of butting heads.
It probably also definitely helps that Hayama helps Kiba employ Kiba's wind type chakra into his jutsu, forwarding techniques such as Fang Over Fang to include a wider vacuum radius etc.
Hayama is very capable of tricking Kiba into thinking he's in control, but it can only go so far. Hayama is strict and unyielding, and it instantly makes Kiba raise his hackles. Kiba does not work well with strictness, which leads into the change in the relationship between Kiba and Shino.
(This is all headcanon that would need to be worked out with a Shino-mun when/if the time calls for it)
In canon Kurenai and Hinata had a good effect on both boys, particularly in their team dynamic, cooling their different brands of hot hotheadedness and different hang-ups to bring them closer knit.. Whereas in Sunshine Kiba would be much more fiery in the face of everyone telling him no and making him step down - his sensei, his team mates - and Shino would become a little more like a rival to him. After all, Shino is from one of the noble four families, he's intelligent and precise and he's a stickler for rules - which Kiba finds both boring and annoying.
I see their relationship being a little like Naruto and Sasuke's relationship in the early years. So Kiba would vehemently assure everyone how much he dislikes Shino while kind of labeling him his best friend in his head. He likes him, but he'll never say it out loud, he'd much rather call him a bastard.
Kiba hates that Shino is so controlled when he's not, so he loves to taunt him by making him angry because that's the only reaction he can get out of him. And he kind of knows that Shino also enjoys the challenge, and likes to get one up on him because it's the only time he can put Kiba in his place.
Shino would understand team dynamics and his sensei's teaching, that there shouldn't be a leader and that you should work together to lend your skills, but Kiba works from pack dynamics where there's always a head.
Kiba is relatively civil with his other team mate however. Sakura tends to side with Shino a lot and gang up on Kiba, especially when Kiba is wrong, so sometimes he's a little hostile toward her, but he can't have that rivalry with her like he can with Shino because of how different their abilities are.
Kiba joined his team in the chuunin exams when he was fifteen, managing to pass successfully despite all the head butting.
Other than that, Kiba's history remains much the same. He fooled around in his academy days, slacking off and often skipping class with his friends, which means he's not entirely proficient at learning jutsu today. He got a name for himself as a trouble maker and a rebel, and while that makes him sound pretty cool, it also means that people tend to not take him seriously.
Kiba grew to aspire to become something more than just the unruly dog boy from a clan outside of the four noble ones... He wants to become Hokage, to put the Inuzuka on the map, and to make his mama proud.
Sunshine Abilities/Powers:
(One of Kiba's extended techniques, revealed after the Sasuke retrieval arc, but never expanded on. Adjusted and changed for Sunshine canon.)
In his youth Kiba came up against a lot of issues with his distaste for teamwork, preferring only to work with his partner Akamaru. However, his failure to gel with those working alongside him meant that he frequently put them in danger, and when his sensei told him this and told him what a mistake it would be to be at fault for them coming to any harm, Kiba realised he needed to harness the power to fight and protect those around him at the same time. Since then he trained his body and his clan's 'wildness sixth sense' and continued to sharpen his sensitivity till he acquired a new weapon: Whirlwind Wolf Fang, his one defensive move that is a branch from Passing Fang. Instead of using the spin to attack, Kiba spins and forms a shield with his own large, transformed body to protect his group. This attack is designed to be used without Akamaru's assistance.
Heaven Twin Fang
(Tensouga) (Game move only)
Kiba and Akamaru jump into the air and uses the Fang Passing Fang technique. The two then merge creating a giant Passing Fang. They then tunnel far into the ground creating a large, deep hole.
Kiba also knows how to body flicker after constant badgering of his sensei, and is looking to employ more wind style to his moves, aside from constantly looking at how to make his own jutsu or expand on his clan's native ones.

Shino-
So my Ma told me to write a formal apology to all the food stalls I wrecked yesterday when Akamaru and I were late for our training summons. I dunno why she's acting like it's my fault, it's clearly not.
Anyways. I don't have time to like. Stick it up or give it to anyone, so uh. Do me a favor, buddy?
Ignore all the crossed out bits. Hana thought it wasn't appropriate, apparently.
Thanks, bug breath.
- Kiba.
DEAR SHOP OWNERS AND WHOEVER ELSE FEELS LIKE THEY DESERVE AN APOLOGY
I am very sorry for the way I acted when I raced down the street yesterday and ran right into your cart/stall/business/whatever and knocked it over or broke it or I dunno. I'm sorry if I offended you with how loud I wasor how much fun I was having.
I know you villagers don't see a lot of real entertainment very often but I-
My Ma told me to write this letter, and that's the only reason-
I hope you can accept my sincerest apologies and hope that you won't hold it against me or my clan members, or shinobi in general, or whatever.
LOVE KIBA xox
